Shovon Byers
Cincinnati,Oh
Shovon LaChé Byers is a Christian singer, songwriter, and worship leader from Cincinnati, Ohio whose music boldly bridges gospel, hip-hop, pop, and worship. Raised in the heart of the church, she began singing at a young age and quickly discovered that music was not only a passion but a calling. Her journey started in the pews of her home church and extended to the stage, performing at renowned venues like The Aronoff Center, The Freedom Center, and Cincinnati Music Hall.
An attendant of Cincinnati’s School for Creative and Performing Arts, Shovon has also graced the stage as an actress in numerous theatrical productions, demonstrating a lifelong commitment to creative expression. Over the years, she has led worship in various churches, always aiming to usher people into a deeper encounter with God.
Her musical influences include powerhouses like Mary Mary, Yolanda Adams, and The Jones, and her sound reflects both the soul of traditional gospel and the energy of modern worship. Writing most of her songs alongside her husband—who also serves as her producer—she brings a deeply personal and spirit-led voice to every track. Together, they’ve released three singles and collaborated with Cross Worship Music on several projects, including one song she co-wrote that is set to be released soon.
But Shovon’s story is more than her accomplishments—it’s a testimony of grace. After battling with alcohol addiction and walking through a season of being what she calls a “lukewarm Christian,” she took a step back to realign her heart with Christ and prioritize her family. “Church life can be a lot to deal with,” she says, “but taking time to refocus on Jesus was the best decision I’ve ever made.” Delivered and restored, she now lives fully devoted to Christ, with a fire in her spirit and a mission in her heart.
Now entering a new season of ministry, Shovon is writing her debut full-length album, born from a place of healing, freedom, and renewed purpose. She isn’t in it for awards or accolades—her heart beats for the broken, the bound, and the next generation. Her desire is simple yet profound: to gather people from all walks of life and lead them into the presence of God through the music He’s given her.
“There’s no award that can validate or invalidate why I was created,” she says. “I’m here to break chains through Jesus—and only God deserves the glory for that.”
